In recent articles, we have introduced you to two of our employees who have passed the Prosci certification. In this article, we wanted to introduce you to Ruan, who has also recently passed the certification. We interviewed him to get his point of view on this program and to understand how this certification has become essential in his role at Mandarine on a daily basis.

1. Hello Ruan, can you introduce yourself and explain your background?

After completing my university studies in the vibrant cosmopolitan city of Montreal, I came to Ireland where I worked for several large US Multinational software organisations. One of the software companies I worked for was Microsoft which eventually led to my joining Mandarine Academy.

2. What is your role today at Mandarine?

I manage UK and International Business Development and Partner Channel Management for Mandarine Academy. Part of my role also involves advising customers on how best to adopt Microsoft technologies as part of their overall workplace learning and change management strategy.

3. Can you tell us about the Prosci training you just completed?

I first learnt about Prosci through our direct partnership with Microsoft’s Adoption and Change Management (ACM) team who had discovered a way of architecting our solutions utilising Prosci to deliver effective change management on a very large scale. Although Microsoft was a very credible reference to showcase our link to Prosci, I knew that the best way to share this valuable knowledge with our wider partner base was ultimately for me to complete the course myself.

4. What did you expect from the training before even started?

I expected the training would provide me with a tried and tested methodology with a comprehensive set of tools to be more consultative in my approach to demonstrating the full value of our service offering.

5. What does change management mean to you today, after completing the training?

Change Management has taken on a much more complete meaning since having completed my Prosci training. Before I did the training, I would have focused moreover on the knowledge aspect of change management. But since having completed the course I now have a more complete view of the key interdependencies of Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability and Reinforcement as applied in ADKAR which sits at the heart of the Prosci teachings.

6. Can you explain how this certification has become essential in your role at Mandarine?

The certification has provided me with an essential list of governing principles to confidently call upon in consideration of the ongoing change management projects I am working on today and those I will encounter further along the road ahead.
